About Gersende Blanchard

Gersende Blanchard is a Lecturer in Information and Communication Science at the Université Charles de Gaulle Lille 3 and a researcher at GERIICO. Her research focuses on the political web and the exploitation of electronic media for communication and political exchanges/debates. She has worked on the electronic campaign during the French Presidential election of 2002, the use and appropriation of the Internet by political parties for their communication and on online political discussions. Her work on the strategies and practices of political electronic communication led to publications in Les Enjeux de l’Information et de la Communication, the journal Libero Casper Libero of the University of São Paulo and two book chapters published in 2011. She is a board member of the Réseau Sociologie des médias RT37 of the French Association of Sociology and has been a member of DEL-CNRS since 2005.
