webinpolitics.com is an international research project conducted by a team of six university researchers in France and Quebec. The project is funded by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (France) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec, Société et culture (FQRSC) (2011¬–14).
The aims of this project are:
- to compare the use of the Internet and social media by candidates and political parties during the 2012 French Presidential election campaign and the legislative election campaign in Quebec;
- to understand the perceptions and political practices of Internet users during the French and Canadian web campaigns.
To achieve these goals, the team uses a mixed approach, combining quantitative (web content, online survey) and qualitative (semi-structured interviews, focus groups) analysis, to build truly comparative results.
